Links for expats

As someone who has been living overseas for 23 years and who specialises in writing about and working with budding authors and writers who live and work abroad I could not have a website that did not contain links to my favourite expat websites:

Close to my heart . . .

This section is reserved only for those people or organisations who have changed my world.

Families in Global Transition

The annual conference that supports, inspires and informs global nomads across all sectors. In 2010, at my sixth conference, I was presented with a Trailblazer award for my work with expat spouses. In 2007 I was their closing keynote speaker but present workshops there every year. This conference is where I most belong. Mark your diaries for March 2011 when the next FIGT will be in Washington DC.

Expat Expert – Robin Pascoe

Robin and I are ‘twins separated at birth, though a decade apart’. We both love nothing more than sharing what we know with expats everywhere and achieve this by connecting, writing, publishing and presenting. Follow her blogs and read her books. Robin was also presented with a Trailblazer award at FIGT this year.

WIN Conference

The Women’s International Networking conference was the brainchild of an amazing expat entrepreneur, Kristin Engvig, who had a dream. Kristin wanted to create a conference where women could meet and share the most inspiring stories that would not only change lives but also create some wonderful friendships. In 2010 the conference will take place in Paris, in October. I will definitely be there, run a workshop and meet some more worldclass women.

Expat Women

Andrea Martins has created a website crammed with inspiring stories and downright useful information, connections and links for women overseas. This is a tremendous resource and is absolutely free. Her blog bursts with stuff you just need to know.

Need to know

This section is a work in progress. I’ll keep adding to it so come back soon.
