As temperatures outside plummet, I find my thoughts drift to the topic of wool.
Woolly jumpers, hats, scarves, gloves and thermal underwear mainly!
And then I saw a tweet about ‘if you think well, you write well’ and a piece by David Ogilvy of Ogilvy Mather. As a Mad Men addict, anything from the pen of an ad man interests me. So I read his ten tips and am delighted to report that most of them would be mine too, particularly 2, 3 and 6.
But then there were some new ideas. To start with he recommended a book on writing I had never heard of. And he claimed that “woolly minded people” write woolly copy. His words were tough and did not beat around the bush.
For tips from the master, I suggest you read his article too. It taught me something.
