Are you a writing traveller?

By Jo Parfitt, Summertime Publishing, on January 16th, 2009

Last night I attended a networking event at the Women’s Business Initiative in The Hague and, like you do, met someone with a really juicy bit of information. Karin Nijhuis is passionate about travel and writing and specialises in helping the tourist industry with websites and content.

Karin told me about WritingTravellers, a clever website that works a bit like Wikipedia, in that you get to write the content for guidebooks. Then, with a credit beside your name for your contribution, however small, you get the byline and the satisfaction of knowing that you really can make your holidays work for you. The company started in 2006 and is based in Amsterdam, so it is no surprise that the complete guide to Amsterdam is the first to roll off the press, with Delhi to follow. Ultimately these guides will be available as ebooks and in print.

Take a look now, and see if you would like to be involved.
